Forty mobile application developers, five mentors and students participated in the recent Android mobile challenge launch and hackaton event at iceaddis. The target of the event is to find a competitive android app submission from Ethiopia and the first step has already been taken – introducing the challenge.
Two thirds of developers don’t have prior experience on Android development. The invited mentors and a team from GTUG-addis assisted the developers to start with developing their first android application. It is expected that the applications will be ready before July 1st 2011.
